One of the main benefits of shipping your furniture via road freight delivery is that it is a cost-effective method of transportation. When your applicable items are loaded, transported or being delivered, by our company, then your furniture is under the personal care of our the driver and packer assigned to your vehicle. Because each quotation is on offer as a bespoke service level agreement, to be accepted by each client, please ensure to discuss and arrange your insurance accordingly. For instance, we provide automatic in-transit
insurance, this means that whilst your applicable items are in-transit, it is covered against accident, fire, theft and riot. It is always best to plan in advance and allow for a little extra time due to traffic, weather or other conditions.

Items that Cannot be Sent via Road Freight Delivery:
There are several items that cannot be sent via road freight delivery. These include hazardous materials, such as explosives, flammable liquids, and corrosive materials, as well as perishable items, such as food and plants. Required Documents:
To ship your furniture via road freight delivery, you will need to provide us with a detailed inventory of the items you are having transported. Depending on the quotation, you may even allow us to setup an inventory on your behalf when attending to packing for you. It is important that you are familiar with all content being packed in order to ensure compliance to safety and other laws and regulations.
Also depending on the items required to be transported, or if lawfully required to do so for legal or insurance purposes, you may also need to provide proof of ownership and identification documents.
When re-locatio accross boarder then you can obtain cross-border transit documentation/permits from that countires relevant authorities or the South African authorities.

All Risk Insurance:
All risk insurance provides coverage for any damage or loss to your furniture during transit. This type of insurance is usually optional, but it is recommended to ensure that your furniture is fully protected during transportation. Talk to your quotation agent in order to ensure there are no surprises when it comes to being covered for the unforeseen.

In-Transit Insurance:
In-transit insurance provides coverage for any damage or loss to your furniture during transit. This type of insurance is typically included in the removal quote. Please re-confirm this with your quotation agent to ensure comppliance, eventhough typically included, depending on the contents of the freight for instance, the insurance cover may be viod by the insurer. Your agent shall quickly confirm which cover is active and what this include and exclude.

Share-Load:
Share-load is a service that allows you to share the removals truck and service with other customers. This can be a cost-effective option if you are moving a smaller amount of furniture. Especially in South Africa with our fast distances, this is an option you should inquire about with us.

Packing of Furniture and Belongings:
Whether to allow the removals company to pack your furniture and belongings is a personal choice. However, it is important to note that the removals company may not be liable for any damage that occurs to items that were not packed by them. We have been doing this for over two decades, we con confidently say, we know how to conduct our business. Discuss your packing and insurance options with your quotation agent.

Items that Should not be Packed by Another Person:
Some items should not be packed by another person, including important documents, jewelry, and sentimental items. This should make sense to us all. Should you have a special item or request, let us discuss your requirement beforehand.

Excluded Items:
Some items may be excluded from the removals company’s insurance policy, including antiques, artwork, and valuable items. Should you have any of these items, do discuss or indicate this thouroughly when requesting your quotation. Remember that the value of certain items and or their condition could place the removals company at creat risk. ensure transparancy to minimize delays or frustration.

Protective Packaging:
The removals company should place fragile items, such as glassware and electronics, in protective packaging, wrapping, or boxes. Your bespoke quotation will carry all the information regarding the packaging as per your request, specific furniture structure and, or budget.

Items Excluded from Protective Packaging:
Items that are not fragile, such as Clothing or soft furnishings. Large items such as pianos or pool tables, may not be placed in protective packaging, wrapping, or boxes. Again, should you want to be sure about how a specific item or items will be packed or protected, discuss this wiht us, we know the business and shall provide best practice advice.

Off-Loading of Furniture:
Unless otherwise requested and or arranged, the removals company is responsible for off-loading your furniture at the destination address. The mover is however responsible to ensure safe and obsticle free accress to te premises or location without delay or possible damages to removals company vehicles or equipment. Should a “shuttle” such as a bakkie be required E.G. at a long or too narrow drive-way, this is the mover’s responsibility to communicate beforehand.

Basic Ablution Services:
As the mover, you are required to provide basic services, such as an ablution (Toilet only) facility, to the removals staff if available. There is just no other way and by law this retain people’s dignity under the circumstances.

Communicating with the Removals Company:
If for some reason the owner of the removals company is not able to visit or supervise, or be in direct communication with you during your removal, you can communicate with the removals team leader, which is the driver of the vehicle, should the driver not be readily available then the packer should be able to communicate with the client until the driver or other manager is availabel to resolve.

Adding Items:
You may be able to add forgotten items to the removal on the day of the removals, but it is best to check with the us as the removals company beforehand. This is especially important on shared-loads and there is always the possibility of additional charge(s) or even decline.

Pot Plants and Pets:
We as the removals company may be able to transport pot plants, but it is best to check with us beforehand. We do provide the service, and we take care in providing for any animals transportation,
however it is done and provided solely at the risk of the owner of the animal.
We feel pets should not be transported via a removals company.

Unforeseen Delays:
If there is an unforeseen delay due to riots or an act of god, we as the removals company will notify you in order to best assist you through the unforeseen delay.

Boxes for packing my goods for removals?
Enquire from us if we are able to assist you to obtain boxes for packing your goods, you could approach packaging retailers, storage companies, home improvement stores, or recylcle companies.

Do the removals company carry any responsibilities for my furniture?
Yes, we the removals company carry a responsibility for your furniture during the transportation process. They are responsible for ensuring that your furniture is loaded, transported, and offloaded safely and securely. They are also responsible for any damage that may occur to your furniture during the transportation process. Do discuss this very important aspect with us.

Which Responsibilities do I carry myself?
If you are repsonsible for the packing and placement of goods, furniture, equipment and other then it should be performed in a manner that promote thoughfulness to access and safety to both people and furniture. As the owner of the goods, you are then responsible for ensuring that all items are properly packed and labeled before we, the removals company arrive. You should also ensure that you have all necessary documentation ready (Some we are able to supply such as the inventory guide list) and that you are available to supervise the packing and loading process. You are welcome to talk to us about the process and procedures so you are at ease.

What if an employer is paying for my move?
If your employer is paying for your move, it may be best to ensure you keep copies of the necessary documentation and provide this for inspection or collection by the driver of the removals truck or vehicle. This may including a letter from your employer authorizing the move and payment details.
You should also ensure that you are available to supervise the packing and loading process.
Discuss this with your quotation agent and know it is pre-arranged and all in order.

What do I do if something is accidentally dropped or broken?
Over more than twenty years of service we had very few accidental incidents, but If something is accidentally dropped or broken during the move, you should notify us, the removals company as soon as possible. Most reputable companies such as Kolenzelle Van Lines, will have in-transit insurance that will cover the cost of any damages caused during the move. However, it is important to take note of any damages and report them as soon as possible to ensure that your claim is processed quickly and efficiently. Take pictures, write descriptive notes and discuss as soon as possible with the owner, driver and or packer for guidance and or acknowledgement. Even should you not have insurance on the specific item, or it was for instance broken by your employee , or had not been moved by us during the removal, then, we may still be able to assist you with guidance to a reputable dealer, repairer or other service provider.
